The world doesn’t need to wait for fully autonomous cars to transform transportation.
We believe some of the biggest opportunities for autonomy are much closer at hand: private roads, campuses, resorts, yards, depots, and other controlled sites.
Veer builds the technology that makes those places autonomous.
Point of View
Okay, robots are hard. If by robot you mean C-3PO.
But many of the machines we want to automate already exist. Golf carts. Street sweepers. Tractors. Shuttles. Tugs. Utility vehicles.
Veer doesn’t build those machines. We make those machines autonomous.
That’s an important distinction. We’re not waiting for a magical new robot to arrive before autonomy becomes useful. The machines, sensors, computers, and open-source autonomy software already exist.
The harder problem is making all of it work reliably in a specific place, with its roads, rules, boundaries, obstacles, people, and constantly changing conditions.
That’s where Veer focuses.
The Idea
A machine can be perfectly capable of driving, navigating, sensing, and making decisions and still be useless if it doesn’t understand the place it’s operating in.
Every autonomous deployment has to answer the same questions:
For a single vehicle in a single environment, those problems can be solved one deployment at a time. At scale, they become infrastructure.
Veer is building that infrastructure.
What We Build
Veer creates the tools that turn real places into machine-readable environments, from mapping and spatial data to autonomous operation and site-level coordination.
Our goal is simple:
Make deploying autonomy on a private site feel less like a moonshot and more like installing infrastructure.

Veer was founded by Jim Y. Li, a technologist and entrepreneur interested in the boundary between human intent, machine intelligence, and the physical world.
